Tufting is the process of pushing the carpet fiber through the backing material.  In this style the tufting is eliminated from a portion of the carpet and replaced by an embroidered brocade fabric inlay.  This carpet style, although very elegant, is more delicate than the fully tufted style and is better suited in a low traffic setting or displayed as a wall hanging.
